Mission

ERASE AND REPLACE!

Addict To Artist is a recovery-based, all-inclusive program that supports any and all affected by addiction. We strive to create a safe and supportive group where those effected by addiction can express their feelings and experiences through art. Our philosophy is to ERASE the destructive influences of addiction and REPLACE them with a positive and meaningful experience while creating a safe community to share, support, and learn about art as well as addiction and turn the MESS INTO A MESSAGE.!

Addict to Artist is a free community support group that uses art to assist us in achieving long-term sobriety and personal recovery. As an artist you are a creator and Addict II Artist allows you the platform to turn addiction’s destruction into sobriety’s success through the Erase and Replace Philosophy – Erasing addiction and replacing it with something of greater value. Addict II Artist finds our purpose in art. We aim to erase the perception of the word “addict” in the public eye, and in the mind of the sufferers themselves.

We are a support group available to anyone touched by addiction. Whether you are in recovery yourself or have family or friends who have, or are currently battling addiction, come join us.

Values

The Addict II Artist recovery support group uses all forms of artistic expression to assist in the creation of sobriety, community, support, understanding and worth. Through this innovated recovery process, we assist individuals and families in moving from Addict to Artist and turning the mess of addiction into a message of sobriety. We have developed 4 principles of sobriety to assist us in creating this change

01.
– Create

Create; to call something to exist. Take something new or imaginative. To produce something from nothing. This simple principle hold tremendous Power as each of us are uniquely creators of everything that comes into our lives. We create pleasure or pain, chaos or harmony. We are creators.

02.
– Ballance

Balance; an even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady. A condition in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportions. To keep or put (something) in a steady position so that it does not fall. In any modality of artistic expression, there must be balance just as in our lives.

03.
– Rythem

Rhythm; a strong, regular, repeated pattern of movement or sound. Rhythm is the timing of events on a human scale of movement and flow. The heartbeat of life and the deep emotions that must transition through recovery and life.

04.
–Worth

We heal together. Children and families will always be welcome at our meetings, because no one can go through recovery alone. The family members of the addicted need to heal as well. It is our belief that we can all do it together, at the same time, in the same meeting.

Lasting Sobriety

Blu Robinson, Founder of Addict II Athlete, said, “In order to maintain sobriety, one must have a purpose”. We have found that purpose in creativity, and in sharing it with others. Not only are we healing together, we are creating and giving back together. Addict To Artist gives an individual facing addiction recovery, the ability to give back to a community they formerly only took from.
